Dear Mount Vernon School Families

Dear Mount Vernon Families,

It is with great joy and excitement that I welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! As the new principal of our vibrant, culturally diverse, and high-achieving community, I am thrilled to join you on this journey. Alongside my team—VP Kendra Bruno (PreK-2), VP Terrence Daniel (3-5), and VP Victoria Carlisle (6-8)—we are eager to elevate Mount Vernon to new heights. Our theme for the year is "Restore, Revive, and Recover!"

Last year, we celebrated many achievements, including one of our outstanding teachers, Ms. Morris, being recognized as the district Teacher of the Year. Our girls' basketball team clinched the elementary school championship, and our soccer team had a remarkable season. This year, we look forward to reviving activities such as our award-winning Debate Team, Multicultural Night, and a revitalized PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization).
